MYP Evaluation Visit13.04.2018 Every five years Miras International School submits itself to an IB MYP Evaluation visit. This took place from the 9th-11th April. The purpose of the visit is to question the school on its approach to the MYP and to make commendations and recommendations based on the school’s own self-assessment of its progress from the previous visit which took place in 2013.
The visiting team consisted of the Secondary School Principal of Bonn International School, Germany and the MYP Coordinator from the Inter-bi-lingual School in Switzerland. During their visit, the team met with the MYP Coordinator and MYP leadership team, subject department teachers, students and parents.
Whilst their written report will not be ready for a month their verbal feedback was very positive reciting many circumstances whereby the school was performing above and beyond the requirements of the MYP. They were impressed by the enthusiasm and loyalty to the school of the teaching staff, the positive, clear and thoughtful contributions of the students and the supportive comments by parents. The team enjoyed visiting lessons and complimented the school on its displays, which clearly reflected the values of the MYP.
Mr. Stephen Butlin, Secondary School Principal: "I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Ms Paula Preston, our MYP Coordinator, for all her hard work this year in supervising the preparation for the visit. She has proved herself to be an outstanding member of the Miras family and a first class role model for demonstrating the qualities of the IB Learner profile".
