High School
High School (Grades 11-12 )

The High School Programme is either a one- or two-year course of  specific education and is aimed at preparing students for continuation of their education in higher academic institutes of Kazakhstan and overseas.  

The one-year course (Grade 11) is based on the integration of the Kazakhstani educational standards with the elements of International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

A component of variability provides the students with the opportunity to focus their attention on the field-specific disciplines needed for admission (enrollment) and further education at Kazakhstani and overseas higher academic institutes.  

The two-year course (Grades 11-12) is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme intended for students aged 16 to 18.

International Baccalaureate Dipoma Programme (IB DP)

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year pre-graduate educational programme for students of the age of 16 to 19. 

Tuition in this programme is in English and is aimed at preparing student for admission to the best universities of the world.

The Grade 11-12 Curriculum is based off IB DP requirements and entails 6 subject groups:

  • Language А (English, Russian)
  • Language В/Second language (foreign languages: English, Russian, French)
  • Individuals and Societies (Economy, Business Management, History and Geography)
  • Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)
  • Mathematics (fundamentals of Mathematics, standard and higher levels of learning)
  • Art
  • Each student is provided with the right to choose one subject from each subject area (at least three subjects are studied at higher level and three –at standard level). 

The tuition on the programme proposes studying of the ‘Theory of Knowledge’ subject, which is compulsory for everyone and is allocated at least 100 hours over the two years of the Diploma Programme.

The completion of the programme is preceded by compulsory external assessment, which is carried out by independent experts of the IB Organization.  To obtain the Diploma on the completion of the programme, the student needs to successfully accomplish all examinations and write an extended essay in the form of a 4,000- word independent research paper and take active part (at least 150 hours) in implementation of the CAS (Creativity. Action. Service) programme.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma is recognized by leading world universities and opens opportunities for enrollment in most universities without entrance exams and Foundation programmes.
